The Gen-X Native XML Content Management Framework is the result of many years of experience at the forefront of XML-based content management systems.
Experience has shown that where large volumes of XML content must be stored, managed and retrieved, most traditional Content Management Systems hit serious performance and usability problems, which are exacerbated as the quantity, complexity and level of granularity of the content increases. The work-around is usually a trade-off between the level of granularity at which the content is stored and the scalability of the CMS. This trade-off effectively excludes enterprise wide XML content management applications from the efficiencies of managing XML at a component level - re-use, re-purposing and collaborative authoring at the component level.
