Arjuna Technologies is a leading independent supplier of standards-based middleware technology for reliable distributed systems. Arjuna Technologies was formed from the former Hewlett-Packard Arjuna Lab, HP's centre of excellence for transactioning and related technologies. Arjuna has a long history of innovation in transactioning and related technologies. The Arjuna team developed the world's first Object Transaction Service (OTS) implementation in 1997 and then released the world's first commercially-available Java Transaction Service (JTS) in 1998.
This innovation continues as we focus our attention on building products to support reliable Web Services-based applications. In March 2002, the Arjuna team released the world's first Web services transactioning product. More recently, Arjuna collaborated with Fujitsu, Iona, Oracle and Sun to develop the Web Services Composite Application Framework specifications. Arjuna's second generation Web services transactioning product, ArjunaXTS, is available now as an early-access preview.
Building on the experience gained with HP-WST, the world's first Web services transactioning toolkit, Arjuna has developed a second-generation Web services transactioning product that provides all of the components necessary to build reliable, multi-party, Web services-based applications with the minimum of effort. XTS ensures that application-level consistency is maintained even in the event of occasional component failures. The XTS architecture is based on WS-CAF and version 1.0 supports the WS-Coordination and WS-Transaction specifications.
