That's why we created Tagless Editor©, a simple-to-use tool that enables your non-technical workforce to create and edit valid XML documents using a Microsoft Word interface. Why use Tagless Editor versus a proprietary XML editing tool? We, and our customers, like to think of Tagless Editor as the cost-effective and "friendly" XML editor. Our customers believe, as we do, that authors want to create content in a familiar word processing environment - Microsoft® Word the world's most widely used word processor. They do not want to use different proprietary applications for different types of content, and they certainly do not want to be XML markup experts. Our customers also believe that XML brings significant value. Tagless Editor© is i4i's response. It brings real-time XML support to Microsoft Word. There is no transformation, no brittle bi-directional synchronization, and no post-processing of Microsoft Word documents. Valid XML is created in real-time as the user creates a Microsoft Word document. XML (or SGML) tags need not be displayed to the author as they are managed by the Tagless Editor. Tagless Editor is a fully customizable Visual Basic application. It connects to S4/TEXT, the underlying engine that manages all the complexities of the XML on behalf of the Tagless Editor. To Microsoft Word it appears as an unbreakable template enabled by XML.
