SALT (Speech Application Language Tags) is an extension of HTML and other markup languages (cHTML, XHTML, WML) that adds a powerful speech interface to Web pages, while maintaining and leveraging all the advantages of the Web application model. The Microsoft XML for Analysis Software Development Kit (SDK) contains the Microsoft® XML for Analysis provider, sample client applications, and documentation. The Microsoft XML for Analysis SDK contains the Microsoft® XML for Analysis provider and sample client applications. The Microsoft® XML for Analysis Provider supports data access to analytical data sources (OLAP and data mining) residing on the Web. This provider implements the XML for Analysis Specification, which provides for universal data access to analytical data sources residing over the Web, without the need to deploy a client component that exposes COM interfaces. The Microsoft Analysis Services server can be accessed with the provided download, from the web, without any COM components on the client. XML Schema for Smart Tag Lists
|
The Microsoft® Office Smart Tag Lists (MOSTL) Schema allows you to create a simple smart tag in the form of an XML file. Smart tags are a powerful new feature in Microsoft Word 2002, Microsoft Excel 2002, and Microsoft Outlook® 2002 (when Word is enabled as the e-mail editor). With this feature, developers can create custom solutions to label specific text with relevant contextual actions. For example, a developer might wish to tag alphanumeric strings corresponding to product codes with the ability to look up inventory or sales information on that particular product. Many solutions, such as this example, do not require access to the full capability of the smart tag interface. To address this, Microsoft Office Smart Tag Lists (MOSTL) allow developers to create simple smart tags which recognize text strings and allow the user to open associated websites in the browser window. These smart tags are built by creating a simple Extensible Markup Language (XML) text file. |

Windows Server™ 2003
|
Windows Server 2003 is first version of the Windows operating system that includes the .NET Framework with the installation. There are new architectural changes in Internet Information Server (IIS); other new features such as UDDI Services; and the .NET Framework is now on the installation CD as part of the operating system. Before Windows Server 2003, UDDI Services were relegated to a few servers on the Internet run by Microsoft and a couple of other companies to advertise Web services on the Internet. With Windows Server 2003, UDDI is available for users on their own corporate networks. UDDI provides a means for querying a registry of Web service types and instances with flexible taxonomies so that queries and organization systems can be created to meet the needs of a particular business.
