XsdDoc produces an easy-to-understand, three-pane HTML layout, similar to the common Javadoc layout. Two smaller panes list target namespaces and schema components, and third larger pane displays full schema component information. By transforming static XML Schema definition files into HTML documents, XsdDoc gives users instant website publication capability for sharing and team collaboration. User can further customize these pages with W3C® Cascading Style Sheets to suit their specific needs. Generated HTML documents follow the latest Internet standards and are compatible with Microsoft® Explorer5.0, Netscape 7, or Mozilla 1.0.
XsdDoc provides a quick overview of schema, along with helpful component metrics, such as schema component counts. XsdDoc displays detailed information such as: Type hierarchy with labels specifying derivation methods, Substitution group members (including hierarchical group members) of an element declaration, Type constraints and value constraints with informative descriptions, Inherited constraints from ancestral types, All attributes of an element declaration or complex type definition, Potential child elements of an element declaration. XsdDoc fully incorporates external XML Schema definitions (i.e., included or imported XML Schema definitions) into the documentation. XsdDoc provides a cross-reference table for users to view a schema component according to use and used-by relations with other components. XsdDoc fully enumerates a component's referenced target namespace. Users can subsequently click on any target namespace to view all schema components belonging to that namespace. XsdDoc also indexes schema components according to category (i.e., attribute, attribute group, simple type, complex type, model group, and notation). |
