Question: How do I check which version of MSXML is installed on a computer?
Asked By: Andre

Answer: a.) To find out which MSXML versions are installed (and registerd) on your machine, click here

The above Web page uses a simple JScript code and tries to instantiate MSXML DOMDocument instances using version-dependent GUIDs. For all versions, for which the ActiveX object creation succeeds, indicates that MSXML version is installed and registered.

Feel free to view and use the JScript code in this MSXML Sniffer page; you may use the similar code inside an ASP page to find out which version(s) of MSXML is installed on a remote machine (a Web server).

b.) To find out which version of MSXML is being used by Internet Explorer, see the KB article: HOWTO: Determine the Version of MSXML Used by Internet Explorer (Q296647)
